Boise · pressure where it belongs, soft wash where it does not
Old Boise concrete needs pressure. Old Boise siding absolutely does not.
Get a Boise quotePerfect Shine pressure washes and soft washes across Boise from $149. Concrete driveways, walkways and patios get high pressure with a surface cleaner for even results. Painted siding, stucco and older wood gets a low-pressure soft wash instead, because high pressure on those surfaces strips paint and drives water behind the boards. We quote the job before we book it.
Concrete in the North End, the Bench and the East End has been down for forty or fifty years. It is more porous than new concrete and it has decades of organic staining worked into it: tree tannin, moss shadow on the north side, oil from three owners ago. That responds to pressure and to dwell time with the right pre-treatment. A single pass with a wand leaves stripes and does not lift it.
Pointing a pressure washer at painted lap siding. It looks like it is working and then it is not: paint lifts, water gets behind the boards, and on a hundred-year-old house it finds its way into the wall cavity. Siding gets a soft wash, which is low pressure plus a cleaning solution that does the work chemically instead of mechanically. Same result, no damage.
Exterior washing wants above-freezing temperatures for the surface to dry properly, so the Boise season runs roughly March through late October. Booking after the first hard freeze usually means waiting for spring.

Pressure washing uses high water pressure and suits hard surfaces like concrete and brick. Soft washing uses low pressure plus a cleaning solution and suits siding, stucco, painted wood and anything that pressure would damage. Most homes need both, on different surfaces.
It can, badly, which is why we do not use it there. High pressure on painted lap siding lifts paint and forces water behind the boards. Siding gets soft washed at low pressure instead.
Roughly March through late October, while surfaces can dry above freezing. Once the first hard freeze arrives, exterior washing usually waits for spring.
Yes. House washing is a soft wash, driveways and patios are pressure. Booking them together is cheaper than two separate visits.
