We do not publish the policy number or the declarations page here, for the same reason your insurer does not publish yours. The certificate is the document that proves coverage, it comes from our agent rather than from us, and you can have it in a day.

What this actually covers

  • Damage to your property. A pane that cracks, a screen that tears, a light fixture that comes down, water somewhere it should not be. That is what general liability is for.
  • Injury to someone who is not us. If a member of the public is hurt because of our work on your property, the policy responds. It is not your homeowner policy that has to.
  • The paperwork your building wants. HOAs, property managers, commercial landlords and vendor portals nearly all require a certificate on file before a contractor is allowed on site. We are set up for that and it does not slow your job down.

What it does not cover, and what does

Insurance pays for accidents. It does not pay for a job you are not happy with, and any company implying otherwise is selling you something. Quality is a separate promise and we make it separately: the 200% satisfaction guarantee. Tell us and we come back and redo the work. If it is still not right, you do not pay for it. That is the whole policy, and it has no small print because there is nothing else to it.

Two promises, two different jobs. You get both.

If something goes wrong on your job

  1. Tell us on the day. Before the crew leaves if you can, and same day either way. Damage is easiest to establish while everyone still remembers the job.
  2. We photograph it and call you. Same day, from a person, not a ticket number.
  3. Small things we just fix. A screen, a bulb, a section of trim. We repair or replace it at our cost rather than make you file anything.
  4. Anything real goes to the carrier. You get the claim details in writing, and you are not the one chasing it.

Three questions worth asking any contractor

Including us. If a company on your driveway cannot answer these in a minute, that is your answer.

  1. Can I see a certificate of insurance issued by your agent? Not a card, not a screenshot, not a PDF they made. The certificate names the carrier, the insured, the limits and the policy period.
  2. Does the named insured match the name on my invoice? A policy in a different business name than the one billing you may not cover your job at all.
  3. What is the per-occurrence limit? Ask the number out loud. For anything involving ladders, a second storey or pressurised water on somebody's siding, thin limits are the whole risk.
About the figures on this page

Coverage type, limits, carrier and named insured are taken from Perfect Shine's own current policy declarations, issued through Ohio Security Insurance Company, a Liberty Mutual company. The certificate of insurance is issued by our agent and is available to any customer, HOA or property manager on request. This page is reviewed at every policy renewal.

Insurance questions we get asked

Is Perfect Shine insured?

Yes. Perfect Shine Home Solutions carries commercial general liability insurance with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, written through Ohio Security Insurance Company, a Liberty Mutual company. The named insured on the policy is Perfect Shine, LLC.

Can I get a certificate of insurance before you start?

Yes, and you should ask. Text or call (208) 954-4864 with the name and address that need to appear on it and we will have the certificate issued and sent within one business day. It comes from our agent, not from us, which is the only version worth accepting from any contractor.

Can you name my HOA, landlord or property manager on the certificate?

Yes. Send us the exact legal name and mailing address they want listed and we will have them added as certificate holder. If your contract or vendor packet asks for specific additional insured wording, send us the requirement and we will take it to our agent.

Are you bonded?

No, and we would rather say so than blur it. We carry liability insurance, not a surety bond. They are different products. A bond guarantees a contract gets finished; liability insurance pays when property is damaged or somebody is hurt. For house cleaning, window cleaning, gutters and pressure washing, the liability policy is the one that actually pays if something breaks at your house, and that is the one we carry.

Are you licensed?

Idaho does not issue a statewide trade licence for residential cleaning, window cleaning or pressure washing, and there is no state contractor board licence covering this work. So when a cleaning company in the Treasure Valley advertises itself as licensed, it usually means it is a registered business, nothing more. Perfect Shine Home Solutions operates as Perfect Shine, LLC and has been running since 2016. In this trade the credential worth checking is the insurance, so we publish it.

Does the insurance cover a clean I am not happy with?

No, and no insurer's would. Insurance is for accidents: a cracked pane, a damaged screen, water where it should not be. Quality is covered by our 200% satisfaction guarantee instead. Tell us and we come back and redo the work, and if it is still not right you do not pay. You get both promises, they just cover different things.

What happens if something gets damaged during a job?

You tell us, ideally before the crew leaves or the same day. We photograph it, and you get a call from us that day, not a voicemail loop. Small things we repair or replace ourselves at our cost, because filing a claim over a screen helps nobody. Anything beyond that goes to the carrier and we hand you the claim details in writing.

How do I confirm the policy is real and still active?

Ask for the certificate. It is issued by our agent and lists the carrier, the named insured, the limits and the policy period, and you can verify it against Ohio Security Insurance Company directly. A photo of a card, a screenshot, or a PDF a contractor typed themselves is not a certificate. That standard applies to us as much as to anybody else you let onto your property.
